Tuesday Retail Point of Sale Software Tip

Got a quick message that you need to communicate to all or some of your staff. The more popular point of sale systems have an internal messaging ability. Kind of a blend between instant messaging and email. “shift” + “F2” is the short cut key in Microsoft RMS Store Operations and you get a screen looking like this:

 

NCR CounterPoint uses should see a “Message Center” button from the point of sale and/or manager screens. You will end up with a screen looking like this:

These internal messaging functions are only meant to be used within the point of sale system. I know back in my days we used to keep a written journal to communicate so these basic messaging functions are a great improvement.
