Contact me at 208-340-5632 or kevinantosh@gmail.com for more information - I already have a dozen or so RMS HQ users that I am meeting with over the coming months to out line migration plans to RMH Central.
I've had reports of Microsoft Dynamics RMS point of sale software users receiving the following error message when try to process payments made using PIN Debit:
"Connection Error: Unable to Connect to remote host. Unable to establish security context for this session Num=0, Source="
In most cases, transactions run by credit card work fine.
TSYS is looking in to the issue but this is a good example of why RMS users should be looking at Card Defender since Card Defender takes out the old EDC settings in RMS (which is really not secure when it comes to protecting card holder information) and replaces EDC with payment terminals that meet or exceed payment industry security requirements (and still interface directly with RMS).
As a bonus, Card Defender also allows retailers to accept Chip Cards, NFC Payments like Apple Pay and Google Wallet, and even works with the low cost replacement point of sale programs for RMS like Cloud Retailer and Retail Management Hero.
More information on Card Defender can be found here or by contacting RITE at sales@rite.us or 888-267-7483.
Very important information related to the pricing scheme for Retail Management Hero (RMH) and RMH Central as well as the iPad version of RMH. be sure to note the effective dates as this may effect your decision related to upgrading from Microsoft Dynamics RMS to RMH. Please note that this is subject to change.

So the very cool RMS iPOS app has been updated to work with the Retail Management Hero software. I'm going to start this off by stating that I can only recommend this app when not used to accept integrated payments. Reason is that the app only works with Shift 4 for payment processing and I've had some very negative personal experiences with the processing services offered by Shift 4 and would never recommend or support using Shift 4 for merchant services. One example being a merchant in the Seattle area that was being charged $2,700 a year in extra transaction fees by Shift 4 on top of their normal processing rates.
The good news is that the RMH iPOS app still has a lot of value for retailers looking for a line busting mobile device, a device for physical inventory counts, and off site sales not using an integrated payment terminal. I actually have both the RMH iPOS and RMS iPOS on my iPad and have been impressed with the functionality. The key functions are there - very similar to what I've worked with on the NCR CounterPoint side of things with the CP Mobile iOS solution for NCR CounterPoint SQL.
Some of the key information about RMH iPOS:
Syncs items and customers
Has an off line mode in case connection to RMH database is lost
Can handle sales, quotes, work orders, and physical inventory counts
This is outdated!!!! Please contact me at 208-340-5632 or kevinantosh@gmail.com for more information.
