If you have some concerns that your stores computers may have some malware or viruses that may have been missed by your current malware and anti-virus software, here is a link to a free scan and removal utility from ESET: https://www.eset.com/us/home/online-scanner/
I checked and one of my computers had seven threats that had been missed by Windows Defender. Given the amount of malware and similar threats out there, it would be wise to run a scan to ensure that your system is malware and virus free.

Please Replace those old MSR's!!!
More security breaches over the last couple of months. This time involving Snoney's and GameStop.
For the sake of your business and your customers, please replace those old Mag Stripe Readers (MSR's) that read card data and transmit it through the POS system. It is very easy to intercept credit card information with these devices. If you don't believe me, open up MS Word, NotePad or WordPad and swipe a credit or debit card. If you can see the actual card information in any of these word processing programs then you have outdated equipment that needs to be replaced ASAP.
Depending on which POS software program you use, there are plenty of hardware and software upgrades available like Card Defender.

All I can say is Arggg - this is happening so often and yet the technology is available to all businesses to prevent this type of a security breach. Simply put:
- Ensure that your Malware and Virus software is active and up to date
- Have payment processing technology like Card Defender that meets or exceeds industry security compliance standards
OK 'nuff said - lets hope that your retail store has already taken the steps to protect your customers payment data.
