NCR Silver Updates

Since I have had four (!) inquiries today alone on NCR Silver, I figured that now is a good time to provide some NCR Silver highlights.

Key Points of NCR Silver
  • Sales part runs on 4th generation iPhones/iPods as well as 1st and 2nd generation iPads
  • Hardware for 5th generation iPhones, 3rd generation iPads, and iPad Minis should be available in late July
  • Designed for Retail Stores, Seasonal Businesses, Coffee Shops, Concessions, and Quick Server Restaurants generating around $150,000 to $500,000 in annual gross sales

Pricing
  • 1st Device is $79.00/month
  • Each additional device (at a single location) is $.10 per transaction with a monthly max of $29.00
Pricing Changes
  • Our 5 month discounted promotional pricing offer expires on June 28th (one month free, five months at $49.00/month, then normal price of $79.00/month)
  • A new pricing option is $29/month + $.15 per transaction for the first device
  • You can switch plans as needed or even stop using NCR Silver if you are a seasonal business
Program Updates
  • Mobile Printing now available using a specific BlueTooth receipt printer
  • You can now adjust the order in which categories, items and modifiers are displayed
  • You can now swipe a card prior to starting a sale in order to assign a customer to a sale

Summer Warehouse Sale

DirectPOS in Boise, ID is clearing out quite a bit of used and open-box point of sale equipment at up to 30% off normal pricing.  I looked through the warehouse and there is everything from cash drawers to monitors to kitchen/receipt printers to various parts and supplies for cash registers.

New Release of NCR Smart Alerts

NCR announced today some updates to NCR Smart Alerts.  NCR Smart Alerts allow you to receive texts or emails when certain events happen in your store or if you just want to receive general sales data via text or email.  This allows you to stay on top of what is happening at the store without having to 'live' at the store.

Here are the details on the latest release of NCR Smart Alerts:


Alert Enhancements
  • Discount Over Percentage Alert has been enhanced to include ticket level discounts
  • Large Sale alert has been enhanced to include the customer’s name, phone number, and e-mail address (if present). This enables you to immediately thank your high ticket customers.  Now that’s customer service!
Website Enhancements
  • Ability to enter custom dollar amounts for alert values if the dollar amount is not represented in the drop down
  • A “Holiday Schedule” button for stores, which allows you to specify days when a store is closed
  • Ability to change the carrier for SMS subscribers
  • Alert selection for subscribers has changed from a drop down to a tree view
