Surcharging Dangers: Disputes and Chargebacks
I have been getting reports from retailers about customers successfully disputing card surcharge fees.
If you apply a surcharge when a customer pays using a credit or debit card in your business, be sure that your surcharge policy signage is easy to see.
Even better, look for a point of sale system and payment terminals that support Dual Pricing as Dual Price does not apply a surcharge but simply allows for a cash price and a card price at checkout.
